Air raid protection for vehicle halls
Effective protection against pigeons entering open hall doors consists of various measures:
To seal gaps and preferred routes that pigeons use to enter the building, the use of Bird Free is recommended. Structural modifications can also be effective. Areas particularly favored by pigeons – such as open cable ducts or areas above workstations, tools, and machinery – should be secured with an electric deterrent system or also with Bird Free to prevent them from perching and nesting.
Pigeons are known for their persistence and loyalty to their nesting sites. Therefore, it is important to locate their nesting places in the hall, remove them, and make them permanently inaccessible.
Similarly, the seating areas in front of the hall should be blocked to reduce the attraction of the aircraft flying into the hall.
Immediately afterwards, our Ornigard sound pressure devices are used. They create unnatural air turbulence through high sound pressure (over 100 dB) and irritate the pigeons as they approach the hall doors.
The turbulence generated by the devices, which is inaudible to humans, causes the birds to leave and avoid the area.
Pigeons perceive this chaotic air through their plumage. Their nervous system warns them of the risk to their flight, so the pigeons veer away from the hall doors as soon as they approach and avoid these areas in the future.
They can't get used to this "stuffy atmosphere".
These devices are installed in a cascaded arrangement with different angles of inclination stacked on top of each other to ensure seamless protection down to the ground.
