OTES Top Electrical System

The new OTES Top high-voltage pulse system reliably and sustainably prevents pigeons, crows, and seagulls from perching on roof edges, ledges, and similar structures on buildings. Upon contact with the live conductors, birds receive an electric pulse, similar to an electric fence, characterized by a high voltage of approximately 2,000 volts but a minimal power output of a maximum of 0.5 joules.

The insulators are spaced 33 cm apart. Three insulators are used per meter. Additional insulators may be required at end pieces, junctions, or electrical connections.

The OTES top is characterized by the following features:

  • Transparent insulators made of polycarbonate, UV-stable, very durable and barely visible.

  • The ladders consist of 3 mm thick, round stainless steel rods made of saltwater-resistant stainless steel 1.4401 / AISI 316 / V4A.

  • The rods are connected to each other using screw sleeves; a significantly more stable and reliable connection compared to the conventional, simple systems that only use springs to connect the rods.

  • Clamping sleeves enable technically reliable and aesthetically pleasing branching.

  • The electrical connection is also made using screw connections.

  • If greater depths need to be protected, several systems are mounted one behind the other.

  • The system can also be mounted on standing seam roofs using additional polycarbonate blocks.
