Protection of the attics on a government high-rise building
Crows have increasingly been throwing stones from the roofs onto the ground around the authority building
The birds deliberately placed stones on the edges of the parapets in order to then throw them down, creating a particularly dangerous situation above the building's entrances and exits. This behavior, which initially appeared playful, posed a serious threat to visitors and staff.
In response, an effective countermeasure was implemented: the robust and unobtrusive OTES ceramic electric system was installed along all roof edges of the building complex. This system reliably prevents birds from perching on the parapets.
For buildings with stepped parapets, the OTES-Fix system was also applied. These measures have successfully eliminated the risk of falling stones. Regular annual inspections confirm that the buildings have since been free of birds and therefore no longer pose a danger from above.
