The pharmacy's facade and neon sign are protected from pigeons
Many pigeons reside year-round in the middle of Hanover's pedestrian zone, as they can always find food there. The pharmacy would have liked to display shopping baskets in front of the entrance. This was hardly possible due to the pigeon droppings.
Mechanical defenses were in place, but the pigeons quickly reclaimed the coveted territory.
Initially, spikes were used to protect the pharmacy's facade, illuminated sign, and entrance area from pigeons. However, these proved insufficient, as the pigeons quickly reoccupied the area.
After cleaning and installing Bird Free bowls in February 2015:
All perching options are blocked, the entire canopy, the lettering and the previous shelters are hygienically clean and free of pigeons.
The floor and shopping baskets in front of the entrance also remain clean.
Customers can enter the pharmacy without any risk of falling debris.
The gel trays are not visible from below.
Conclusion: After cleaning and applying Bird Free Gel in February 2015, the illuminated sign and the entrance area in front of the pharmacy were still free of pigeons even after nine years.

Nine years after the Bird Free installation, the illuminated lettering and the canopy are still clean and free of pigeons
