小島 Bird Free Installation at the Sony Center Berlin
A flock of pigeons perched above the glass elevators in the main hall of the Sony Center, causing frequent and costly cleaning of the glass and floor surfaces. Previously installed rows of spikes above the elevator level failed to deter the pigeons from their roosting spots.
After cleaning the glass elevators and installing 2,400 Bird Free trays, the pigeons did not return. The entire installation is not visible from below.
During an inspection three years later, the head of facility management confirmed that the area around the glass elevators remained free of pigeons.
